We're delighted to unveil our autumn tasting events which will give guests the opportunity to explore the world of wine in an informal and relaxed setting.
On Thursday September 26 and as part of the York Food and Drink Festival’s programme of events, we'll be hosting an evening with Chapel Down, the world’s leading English winemaker. Using locally sourced produce, guests will learn how to pair produce with delicious English wine, beer, cider and gin from Chapel Down’s acclaimed range.
In October, Champagne Pol Roger will be hosting a sold-out Champagne tasting where guests will taste a number of vintage and non-vintage champagnes and discover why Winston Churchill and the British Royal Family made Pol Roger their champagne of choice. Tickets went on sale in late August, although the event sold out in a matter of days.
On November 13, Megan Smith, one of Pairings in-house Sommeliers, will guide guests through a vibrant selection of Fine Ports paired with cheese and chocolate.
Megan says “I’m really looking forward to hosting the Fine Port Tasting, this event really stood out for me, not only allowing me to share my passion for port and it’s varying styles, but to delve into it’s fascinating history and the endless possibilities it offers to pair with food. It will be an informative, fun and indulgent night, hopefully with guests converted that Port really can be enjoyed throughout the year and not just at Christmas!”
Pairings, which was founded in 2015 by sisters Kelly and Kate Latham, was created to provide a relaxed environment where you can enjoy trying something new whatever your knowledge on wine. The sisters’ business offers accessible experiences which are informal, fun and bring guests together to heighten their knowledge on food and drink pairings.
